Description of work:

House Bathroom re-furnishment

Location:

Mitchelgate, Kirkby Lonsdale.

Customer requirements:

The main requirement was to replace the bath with a shower cubicle and provide additional storage space within the bathroom.   The existing bath had a very strange shower solution.  Two curved bath screens were mounted to the wall, which you had to close in on yourself whilst showering.  It was rather claustrophobic, but it also meant the bath was almost impossible to use!

DESIGN & INSTALLATION

Due to the width and length of this bathroom the design element was challenging as we were very restricted where the shower could be positioned.

To achieve the design the men had to alter the existing doorway & wall partition into the bathroom to gain enough width for a shower cubicle to fit.  A trimmable shower tray was then installed to maximise the space within the shower area itself and Flair ORO sliding door and end panel provided the finishing touch.

This design meant we could keep the toilet in its existing position.  The old toilet was sat in front of a studwork partition and projecting further into the room than required.  We altered that partition to increase it to the same height as the window cill and installed a Geberit concealed toilet cistern into the studwork.  We installed a Sauvato BTW toilet & Geberit Sigma flush plate to complete the toilet area.  This layout gained the depth of the toilet cistern which gave better access to the basin area.

To add more storage we installed larger basin unit & basin with storage underneath and also an electric mirror cabinet above.

To create a natural look, Large format 120×60, Ivory Stone tiles were used for both the floor & walls.  This size of tile enables less grout lines to be seen.
